Famous Words Just Before Death

I have found that there have been some very interesting statements by famous people just before their deaths. I am making this hub to show some of those. Pictures and videos will accompany many of them.

If you know of any other interesting death-bed statements, please comment.

Bing Crosby-It Was A Great Game

Bing was an avid golfer. He had just played the final hole at La Moraleja golf course in Spain. The crowd applauded and Bing said, "It was a great game." As he turned to walk away, he collapsed and his golfing partners carried Bing into the clubhouse. He could not be revived.

Marquis de Favras-I see that you have made three spelling mistakes.

The Marquis de Favras lived from 1744-1790. He was captured by radicals of the French Revolution and he said these words as he was handed his death sentence and was led to be killed.

Wilson Mizner-Why should I talk to you? I've just been talking to your boss.

Wilson was a writer and a gambler who lived from 1876-1933. He spoke these words when a priest entered to give him his last-rites.

George Reeves-I'm tired. I'm going back to bed.

The original Superman; George Reeves uttered these words to his wife and proceeded to go to his bedroom and commit suicide.

Many believe he did this because he couldn't get much work after Superman.

Daniel Webster-I still live!

Daniel Webster was a U.S. statesman and lawyer who lived from 1782-1852. Mr Webster was a great defender of the constitution.

The Boy Scouts have a council dedicated to Daniel Webster. I'm sure he would be proud. The video below shows some of that council.

Bing Crosby was the greatest singer ever. He was also a 2 handicap golfer and died after winning his last round in Spain. Interesting hub, and a wonderful picture of Bing.

George Reeves wasn't the original Superman. He was in fact the second actor to play Superman, first being Kirk Alyn. However George was the first to play him on TV.
