Growing In Thickets And Thistles

57

By Froggy213

It is such a beautiful morning. I decided to take a short walk. Putting on my sandals, I eyed the camera sitting near my laptop and decided to take it too.

As I strolled down through the growth and saw the weeds and grass getting taller from all the rain we have been getting lately here in Puerto Rico.

I felt this inner voice speaking to me. For some time now, I know when I feel that, it is time for me to stop, drop and pray. That is what I did. This is what I heard:

"You see thickets, thistles and weeds, but look closer. I see a much different picture, because I am the Creator."

He opened my eyes and showed me what He saw.

Something we rarely see within the weeds and thickets, beauty looking to Him.

All Around

I felt a warmth like no other. God talking to me with His creation. My eyes were opened; my senses aware.

Before me was more; within thickets, weeds and thistles, I saw beauty. This beauty had was growing directly to God. Looking up to Him and feeding off His glory. Glory begets beauty and I was seeing it all right before me.

Just take a look at the beauty that He showed me within the thickets and weeds and then scroll down for what our Lord, Savior and Creator taught me.

Where We Are

God created all for His purpose. He loves and adores us.

As these flowers, they are within weeds and thickets, but their faces are pointed toward God. That is how they grow and become beautiful.

No matter where we are, if we keep our faces pointed toward God, beauty will fill us. If we stay in prayer and reading His Word, no thickets, thistles or weeds can stop us.

Now with that, sometimes the roots from the weeds will entwine within our roots. God will send a worker or even Himself to pull those weeds. Sometimes when pulling the weeds, it tugs and yanks our roots, but it is for us to grow. It may hurt but will give us more life and beauty; even freedom.

It reminds me of the following picture of a palm tree that I had to help. It was drowning with vines choking it and weeds at the bottom near the roots. I pulled the vines and weeds and it is gaining new life, but in the process it lost some branches and leaves. It had to be! It is the same with our Father. Sometimes he has to do it and it hurts, but it is for our own good and for His glory.

Look Up And Within

Let's all try to remember that every man, woman and child is a creation of God. He loves and cares for all of us.

When you see that beggar and wonder, remember he may be in the midst of thistles and weeds. Maybe you are the helper God is sending. Prayer will guide you.

We all have our place on this Earth. Maybe you are surrounded by thickets, thistles and weeds. Keep looking up. Glory is on high. God loves you and wants to feed you with His rays of sunshine and His Water of life. Let Him!

I Praise

I thank You my Lord and Savior; God on high.

For opening this blinded frog's tired eyes.

Your awesome Grace and Love,

Dispels all of Satan's lies.

All praise to our maker

of Heaven and Earth.

He tilled my land

and gave me new birth.

Thank You God!
