Just last evening I was listening to a John Mellencamp Greatest hits c.d. I realized just how many songs have personal and political messages lodged within the songs. I could go back years upon years and find messages in music. In this hub,I am going to stick with the music I listened too and the messages I mustered out of them.

Even if you don't catch the message--at least you will have some great music to listen to with video to go with it.

As I had said before, I was listening to John Mellencamp which gave me the idea for this hub.

John's family has been through a lot of problems because of farm and bank issues. Many of his songs are directed towards this.

In this video he is making one heck of a point. He has always stuck up for the "little" guy. You go John, I respect your work.

Maybe with a bit of persuasion, John Mellencamp could do a song on the issue of child abuse, which is a big issue of mine!

Many of Bob Dylan's songs had messages in them. Many were directed at the Vietnam war.

I have always been moved by Dylan's music.

Yea, the Beatles had many messages in their music. John Lennon was very vocal of his opinions. Most people didn't pick up the messages the Beatles were trying to get across. Next time you are in a Beatles listening mood, listen for the messages.

She didn't live very long, but in her short time she poured out a lot of messages in her music.

Her music inspired many!

I must not leave out Bono. He and his band have moved the world with their messages. They have set up free shows and swamped them with fans.

Bono, keep up the good work!

These are just a few. They are ones that have moved me with their messages.
