Self Publishing versus Commercial Publishing

I spotted this hub request by gamergirl I just had to go for it.

I have been wanting to publish a book for a very long time. Everywhere I checked the prices were phenomenal. I just couldn't justify that cost.

Commercial publishing requires that you pay up-front printing costs. In most cases, you have to buy the books and self-market them. Many of us "little people" couldn't handle all of that. We just want to write.

Guess what? I just recently published my own book. It is done through a great company calledCreateSpace. I would consider it self-publishing, as books are printed as demand calls.

Here is the cover of my first book:

Grandpa's Mission
Amazon Price: $16.49
List Price: $18.89
Grandma & Grandpa Are Called On a Mission
Amazon Price: $0.99

The Costs

I found that they have an up-grade for only $39 that allows you to buy your own books quite cheap. They take a percentage of your sales from Amazon.com or Target.com.

CreateSpace also gives you your own personal web-site to promote your book.

For readers of this article who are interested in having a copy of my book, I will put a code here that will save you 30% off the price:  ADABV9FB

Just enter that when you purchase it at the site in the link below:

Do It Yourself

This next link is straight to Createspace web-site.

You will be very happy I do believe.

Go for it: Write your own book!
