The Spanish Promised Land

Many of us have heard the story. Moses led the Hebrew people out of Egypt into a promised land. The land contained milk and honey. It was a land that God had blessed for His people and was made for them entirely self-sufficient. The name of that land is now Israel.

Israel is a place that has many different religions. Man has changed what God had wanted for His people. Many of the people worship a different God than the God of Abraham, Isaac and Moses. The temple that Solomon built has been overtaken by the Islamic religion.

It is this frog's opinion that Israel and Puerto Rico are a lot alike. I will show you why I feel that way.

Let us look at some of the religions that inhabit Israel. The prominent religion is Judaism which believe in God, but the majority do not believe Jesus was the Messiah. Look at this chart:

As I stated earlier, Israel most likely could self-sustain without any help from the outside world. We all know there is oil all over the Middle East including Israel. Natural gas deposits have been located.

When God stated to Abraham it was a land of milk and honey, He was absolutely correct. Fruits and berries grow very well in Israel.

Now over years man has eroded and destroyed much of the land.

The truth is, if man was to turn from their pollution and greed, the land could become promising again.

You know, I feel like I may be speaking of the land I am living in.

The majority of the statements I made about Israel could also be made about this beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

I have never been to Israel, but at this time I live in Puerto Rico.

I see so many similarities that I just have to call this the Spanish Promised Land.

Like Arab Muslims overrunning Israel, the American government overran Puerto Rico. In my opinion they created an atmosphere of socialism where many here just sit back and take without working for what they need.

Like Israel, Puerto Rico, I feel, could be self-sufficient. This would take people here turning an about face in the ways they look at matters.

There are many resources that can be grown and exported from here. Lets look at some of the wonderful things that are made here:

• coffee
• sugar
• bananas
• plantains
• grapefruit
• oranges
• mangoes
• fabrics
• bamboo

Many, many items can be made and produced here. The island has an excellent way of shipping in that they have easy ports to come into.

From what i have seen and heard since being here is animosity against the American government, but still wanting and desiring all the funding and free stuff they give.

My opinion is that the people here should prepare to do it on their own. The United States is in major trouble financially and Puerto Rico, with all its resources, could easily make it on their own.

First and foremost, we all need to seek God through Jesus Christ!

Yes, many here believe, but in many cases, I see it being just how they have always done things and I see and feel that very few have that personal relationship with the Savior.

I feel God at work both on this island and in Israel.

We need to all call on Jesus and pray for these people.

Puerto Rico is a promised land. It has so much going for it and then I look and see people treating the land terrible. I believe this is also happening in Israel.

God gave us these lands. He said to use it, not abuse it. Think about those coming behind you; children, grandchildren and so forth. You want the best for them don't you?

Teach them God's ways; show the Jesus and tell them to take care of what they have been blessed with. The birds and wildlife need to be preserved and pollution needs to be stopped. If we all pray and do; God will bless us.
