War Of Life; A Poem

Poetry is art; much like a painting, people can get different messages from the same piece of work.

I am sure that people will get their own ideas from the poem that follows. The words just fell into my lap today.

A grand entrance;

Gates of despair.

Mourning will wait

As darkness fulfills.

Achievements hindered

By torches in the hearts

Of pity and sacrifice.

The dawning arrives.

New life; a birth.

Dissipating loneliness,

Screaming joy.

The past begets

A consequence of choice.

Tests arrive;

Grave looks.

The relapse attains victory

As funeral bells chime.

The needle finds

The bloodstream.

Death's battle won.

Child enters Eden;

Mommy sinks to hell

Crying desperately

He comes from upon high;

Grace defined.

New life; a birth.

Stepping into infinity

Darkness is dispelled.

Divine light shines.

New life!

As you can surely read, this poem I wrote today has much darkness entwined within it.What was going on within my mind as writing this?

Picture a young couple in love with each other and with drugs. The young man dies of a drug overdose and the young girl has found she is pregnant. She gives birth to a baby and doctors discover that the drug use of the couple has drastically affected the baby.

The baby dies.

The mother goes back to the drugs but cries out in desperation and God hears her. Be it an Angel, just a Christian man or Jesus Christ himself, the girl is helped and finds new life in Christ.

Her life is saved. Yes her man and her baby have died , but her life is saved.

I know all to well what drugs can do. I praise God that my children all came out healthy. Many children don't.

I did not put what type of drug the girl was doing in the poem because it could be any. You name the drug and I can point out adverse effects from it. The common drugs that are used in needles are: heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and other pharmaceutical drugs are broke down and put into needles all for a brief feeling of pleasure, numbness or power.

We have become a drug world; have a headache, take a tylenol. Have a cold, drink alka seltzer plus; so on and so forth. Doctors have become drug dealers to get kickbacks from the drug companies. This people is not teaching the kids to stay off drugs; it is doing the opposite.

Drugs have hurt us much more than helped us. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it. God gave us many things in nature to relieve all that ails us and even more so, we are to pray. Our bodies were made to be self-healing. By taking drugs we break down the immunities that God gave us to ward off these diseases and sickness.

I pray that mankind will get off the drugs. I hope this poem will help.
